What is this coin worth?
 

I spotted this for sale, won't say where, but was curious as to what it might be really worth? Current bid is $720.

Any thoughts appreciated?

It has US$ 781 melt value. As long as it is real and not a counterfeit. Judging from the abrasions on the face, I would say it doesn't have much numismatic value to a collector. It's not a rare date. Too bad it is so banged up.

If you can get it for around spot (and not counterfeit), go for it. I have one that is in similar condition that I keep just so I can feel real US money every once and awhile. I'll probably give it to my nephew when he graduates high school next year.
